Creative Technologies
Semester 2 Assignment
|
|
Welcome to Semester 2 Creative Technologies.
This semester we will be continuing with the presentation work. You will all be using Director 8 to create a fully interactive CD-ROM based around a given theme. I feel that it will be more appropriate to give you all some feedback regarding your semester one Presentations before moving on than starting on the new project work. For at least the first two weeks tutorials I will be pointing out some of the problems I had when trying to view your presentations and identifying possible solutions. In the first few weeks you will also be given the opportunity to improve your presentations based on my tips and pointers.
Top Tips
- Resize images and graphics before importing them into your Director cast
- Render any animations or Avi's the correct size before impoting them into you Director cast.
- Be sure to have any Avi clips on the same CD Rom as you director projector file, or else Director cannot loading them up.
- Once you are sure that your work is finished test the CD on someone elses PC (ie not your login).
- Alternatively let someone else try it out and relay any feedback.
- It is important to let as many people as possible test you navigation system in order to get a good idea of how the project might be received.

You will be required to demonstrate your product during the last two weeks of semester in tutorials. You must have available all of your design documents and a bullet point critical review.

- Production of a practical and aesthetic layout.
- Implement an appropriate level of interaction.

Each of the criteria is equally weighted and will be assessed against the range:
